Obituary for Romano Lotti

Romano Lotti
Romano Lotti succumbed after his long battle with cancer. He entered his eternal rest at home with his wife, Carla, his daughter, Sandra, and his son-in-law, Jack at his side. During his last days he was surrounded by family and close friends. He is no longer in pain and at peace. He is survived by his wife, daughter and 3 sisters who reside in Italy.Romano Lotti was born and raised in Livorno, Italy, served in the Italian Navy and immigrated to the United States in 1967.
Romano was a cook and boxer in the navy, a skilled trap shooter, a National and World Champion Bocce player and an Inductee in the Stockton Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a fixture (some say a legend) in the Bocce community, not only in Northern California, he had friends and competitors across the nation. He had many title / nicknames throughout his life; president of the Italian Athletic Club, Champion Bocce Player, Livorno, Little Rascal, The Godfather of Bocce, Dad, Husband, Brother, Uncle and a friend to all he met. He always had a joke or story when he saw you (whether you had heard it before or not). He loved to laugh at his own jokes. He was a man that took time to ask about the people he met. He will leave a void in all the lives that he has touched.
My life is richer by having known him. He was my father-in-law, Nonno to my daughters and grandson. He was a giant in a little Italian body. A Celebration of life will be schedule at a later date.
