Obituary for Betty Prince

Betty Prince
Longtime Sacramento resident, Betty Jean Prince passed away peacefully on April 4th 2018 in Fair Oaks California.
Betty was born in Shreveport LA, July 3rd 1939, to Hattie Anderson. She spent her early childhood years in Mansfield LA with her Grandmother and then resided in Shreveport LA until relocating to San Francisco CA, in 1962. It was there, that Betty completed the nursing program at John Adams Community College and begun her career.
Betty made a life for herself and her 3 children in San Francisco, working in the nursing field for over 30 years, until retiring in 2001 at the age of 62. Betty was a dedicated hard worker who truly loved caring for people. It wasn’t just a job for her, it was part of who she was.
Her outside interests included attending church, cooking, reading, taking walks, and shopping the QVC channel. Betty also had a love for animals. Of all her interests, caring for family was the most important. Nothing took precedence over her children, and she would do whatever it took to make her grandchildren happy.
Betty will be remembered by her kind and beautiful spirit, her generosity and independent nature, her love for God, and the unwavering love she had for her family.
Betty is survived by her Mother, Hattie Anderson, Sisters, Jeannette Foster (Jack), Linda Finley (Tommy), and Brenda Williams, Children, Donald Prince and wife Aretha Jackson, Rosalind Prince, and David Prince, Grand Children, Corey Prince and Famina Lockwood, Great Grandchildren Arielle Lockwood and Essence Alexander, and many generations of Nieces & Nephews.
The family has entrusted Colonial Rose Chapel of Stockton CA with final arrangements.
